  1. Cost. POF has a specific gravity of 0.92 and a minimum thickness of 0.01mm, resulting in a lower actual unit cost. PE has a specific gravity of 0.92 and a thickness of at least 0.03, resulting in a relatively high actual unit cost. PVC has a specific gravity of 1.4 and a minimum thickness of 0.02mm, but the actual unit cost is relatively high.
  2. Physical properties. POF is thin and tough, with uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture, high tensile strength, high tear resistance, adjustable shrinkage rate, and better rub resistance due to the presence of LLDPE. PE is thick and tough, with uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture, and tear resistance lower than POF but much higher than PVC. Its shrinkage adjustability is poor, and its rub resistance is not as good as POF. PVC is thick and brittle, with uneven thickness, poor moisture resistance, hard and brittle texture, low strength, low shrinkage rate, and poor rub resistance.
  3. Cold resistant and other physical properties. POF has excellent cold resistance, not hard or brittle at -50 ℃, not easily broken, and can be used for frozen food packaging; After shrink packaging, the packaged material should be stored for a long time at -50 ° C to 95 ° C and remain stable; With static electricity and anti fog treatment, it is not easy to contaminate dust and can keep the product clean and bright. PE has excellent cold resistance. It does not harden or become brittle in winter or after freezing, so it is not easily broken during transportation; There is static elimination treatment, which is not easily stained with dust and can keep the product clean. PVC has extremely poor cold resistance and may become brittle in winter or after freezing, making it prone to breakage during transportation; The longer the shrink packaging lasts, the tighter the shrink will be, and the packaged material will deform; No static elimination treatment, easily contaminated with dust, resulting in blurry product contamination.
  4. Processing performance. The POF processing process does not generate moisture or adhere to the sealing rod, making maintenance and operation easy; High toughness, smoothness, and resistance to rubbing make it suitable for automatic packaging on high-speed production lines. The PE processing process does not produce moisture and does not stick to the sealing rod, making maintenance and operation easy; High toughness, low rub resistance, suitable for automatic packaging on high-speed production lines. The PVC processing process generates volatile moisture, which can easily cause mechanical damage and adhere to the sealing rod, making it inconvenient to operate and difficult to maintain.
  5. Safety. After POF shrink packaging, the four corners of the seal are soft, which will not cut hands and is also resistant to rubbing. After PE shrink packaging, the sealing corners are soft and will not cut hands. After PVC shrink packaging, the corners of the seal are hard and sharp, making it easy to cut and bleed.
  6. Environmental protection and hygiene. POF is non-toxic and does not produce toxic odors during processing, meeting the standards of the US FDA and USDA. PE is non-toxic and does not produce toxic gases during processing, meeting the standards of the US FDA and USDA. PVC is toxic and can produce odors and toxic gases during processing. It is gradually being phased out.
